More than 70 local residents and staff gathered over a special lunch on Wednesday 21 August to celebrate 30 years to the day since Jubilee Community Care opened its doors and began serving the Western Suburbs of Brisbane.
In celebration of the not-for-profit’s important milestone, Dr Christian Rowan MP, Shadow Minister for Communities, Disability Services and Seniors, and State Member for Moggill, provided a special award in recognition of Jubilee Community Care’s outstanding community service.
“For 30 years Jubilee Community Care has been a pivotal service provider and community caregiver for Brisbane’s Western Suburbs. Throughout my time as the local State Member for Moggill, I’ve been fortunate to work with Jubilee Community Care and see first-hand the incredible work they do.
Following the celebratory lunch, complete with a very special, custom birthday cake made especially for Jubilee Community Care, Dr Rowan’s State Member for Moggill Award was presented to Activities Officer Vicki Burden, who accepted the award on behalf of the organisation.
“Jubilee Community Care’s 30 years of continuance service and dedication to our community could not be possible without the incredible efforts of its staff and volunteers.
“On behalf of our community can I again congratulate Director Shaun Riley and his staff for a terrific 30 years, and offer a very heartfelt thank-you, to all who have made Jubilee Community Care the wonderful organisation it is today.” Dr Rowan said.
