Dr Christian Rowan MP, the State Member for Moggill, has continued to support Kenmore’s local high school community through a number of initiatives and celebrations recognising Kenmore State High School’s staff and students.
At the start of the month, Dr Rowan presented to Principal Paul Robertson, and P&C Liaison Officer Penny Hauneschild, a special, customised Honour Board to recognise the Life Members of Kenmore State High School’s Parents and Citizens Association.
During a recent sitting week of the Queensland Parliament, Dr Rowan hosted a special dinner for the outgoing 2019 School Captains Ben Nguyen and Kyu-Yeon Son, and School Vice-Captains Aisha Schreiber and Jonathan Makinson, to acknowledge and celebrate their outstanding year of service.
“Kenmore State High School is a beacon of outstanding state school achievement in the Western Suburbs of Brisbane, thanks to the phenomenal support of the broader school community, including parents and staff, as well as its exceptional student leaders.
“Such achievement deserves to be acknowledged, which is why I was delighted to welcome the 2019 Captains and Year 12 Deputy Principal, Karla Pope, to the Queensland Parliament for a well-deserved celebration.
“As Kenmore State High School’s Premier Awards Night held in October showed, 2019 has been an exceptional year for the student leadership team and the High School’s academic, cultural, sporting, and environmental success.
“With final exams just around the corner, I’d like to wish all students the very best for their final weeks of school, and I can not wait to work with the incoming school student leadership team for 2020.” Dr Rowan said.
