On Friday the 28th of February, Dr Christian Rowan MP, the local State Member for Moggill was joined by Queensland Senator, the Hon. Senator James McGrath, for a very special presentation of Australian, Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and Queensland Flags to the student leaders of Mount Crosby State School.
After being informed by a Year 6 student that the School was in need of replacement flags for the front of the school, along with a terrific suggestion for flags to be flown at school assembly, Dr Rowan worked with Senator McGrath to secure new flags for Mount Crosby State School.
In presenting the Queensland and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flags to the students, Dr Rowan highlighted special significance that each flag represents.
“Each flag has its own special place in the story of our country and are an important symbol in celebrating our shared history and cultural heritage.” Dr Rowan said.
Speaking after the presentation, Queensland Senator James McGrath said he thoroughly enjoyed his visit to Mount Crosby.
“Our flag unites us all Australians and it was great to join a wonderful local MP like Dr Rowan at Mount Crosby State School a few weeks ago to present this flag to the students”. Senator McGrath said.
