The Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads has confirmed that it will be installing Koala Wildlife Signage at various locations along Mount Crosby Road.
The confirmation from Transport and Main Roads comes following significant work and advocacy by the State Member for Moggill, Dr Christian Rowan MP, as well as from local conservation groups including the Karana Downs Koala Tracker, and the Kholo Creek Catchment Group.
Dr Rowan welcomed the announcement, and thanked local volunteers for their ongoing efforts to protect and monitor the health of local native wildlife.
“This announcement is a positive local environmental initiative which will further assist in the protection and preservation of our precious native wildlife.
“I would like to particularly acknowledge and thank our local residents and volunteers from organisations including the Karana Downs Koala Tracker and the Kholo Creek Catchment Group, who provided important research and feedback to both myself and the Department of Transport and Main Roads. This information greatly assisted with the investigations and determinations made by the Department of Transport and Main Roads.”
